It has been said that Rajasthan is like a Ride on the Sands of time, and we would agree with the travel critics, but we also see Rajasthan as a complete celebration of colour.
It is an adventure into India’s deep culture and history as you are catapulted into the central state where red, orange and green turbans contrast and compete with the white and blue washed buildings
”Most of my photos are grounded in people, I look for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a person’s face.
Steve McCurry (2010)
From fairy-tale palaces and epic forts to colourful festivals and wildlife encounters, this is India at its vibrant and most colourful best.
One of India’s largest state’s bordering Pakistan on it’s far West border with the States of Haryana and Punjab on it’s East, it’s magnificent capital Jaipur is known as the Pink City.
It is India’s Home (istan) of Kings.
A land of forts, palaces, fairy-tale desert outposts, coloured markets, beautiful old havelis (merchant’s homes) with many now converted to boutique hotels.
This is a land of battle scarred heritage, mountain top defences within which lie opulence beyond western imagination. Stunning handicrafts and fine arts abound.
Plus a people of culture, wide smiles and inate pride.
Welcome to Rajasthan !
If you’re looking to get more from your photography and invest your skills in one of the most colourful, eclectic and exciting destinations the world has to offer, the Photographic Journeys workshop to India’s Jewel in the Crown, Rajasthan ..ticks all the boxes.
Spend 12 days exploring and photographing towns, villages, deserts, sunrises and unique experiences in one of the world’s most colourful, majestic and bustling places with a rich history and heart-warming culture.
We’ve selected sites that we have personally visited and experienced rather than follow the usual ‘tourist route’.
Along with our trusted travel partners SnowLion Expeditions in India, we have designed this workshop with the true photographer in mind.
At every turn you’ll find something to photograph and document your time there; and we’ll be on hand to help nurture your skills to capture every moment in its raw, true essence.
It is an ideal location for a hands-on lesson in photography and storytelling.
We ensure we keep our tour group sizes small, so that we can offer valuable one on one tuition time to develop each photographer.
